The Opportunity

Georgetown University seeks an exceptional and visionary leader to serve as the next Director of the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC). This is a rare opportunity to lead one of the nation’s premier NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers at a pivotal moment: shaping the future of an integrated cancer enterprise that spans Georgetown University, MedStar Health, and Hackensack Meridian Health.

The Director will be a nationally distinguished leader in academic oncology, charged with advancing Georgetown’s mission through excellence in cancer research, clinical care, education, and community impact. As a central figure within the Georgetown University Medical Center, and within the University, the Director will define LCCC’s next chapter, driving innovation, strengthening partnerships, and elevating the Center’s local, national and global influence.

The ideal candidate will bring a bold and compelling vision for the future of cancer science and care, along with the leadership ability to translate that vision into measurable impact. This individual will advance discovery, accelerate translational and clinical research, expand access to clinical trials, and deepen engagement with the communities, which LCCC serves, while delivering meaningful progress across the full spectrum of cancer care and research. Beyond that, it is also about human dignity, justice, access, prevention, survivorship, and the reduction of suffering. LCCC’s mission is deeply aligned with Georgetown’s commitment to the common good and service to others, especially the most vulnerable.
